This morning I was pleased to join Labour Council candidates from Cardiff Central at the launch of Cardiff Labour’s manifesto ahead of the upcoming local elections.
We have a strong team of Labour Council candidates across Cardiff Central, and I am looking forward to getting out on the doorstep and speaking to voters ahead of the elections on May 4th.
At the event, Cardiff Labour announced 9 key pledges to continue to take our capital city forward over next Council term:
- Step up the rebuilding of Cardiff, creating new and better paid jobs and a fairer local economy
- Increase affordable housing and tackle homelessness
- Make our capital city a great active travel city
- Step up plans to give all our young people the skills they need to succeed in life
- Make City Council services more easily accessible and promote greater openness in local decision making
- Protect our local libraries and valued parks
- Always working hard to get the basics right
- Look after our citizens with care and respect and value carers
- And with our Labour values – we’ll make sure that new opportunities are shared
