Adamsdown Community Profile
It was great to be interviewed by students from Cardiff Met who are working on a Community Profile Project about Adamsdown as part of their Youth and Community Degree. The aim of the project is to find out what resources are available for young people in Adamsdown and what is needed.
We talked about well- established Adamsdown based organisations such as Rubicon Dance and No Fit State Circus; about community grass roots activities around growing and litter picks and the work that the Trinity Centre, the Welsh Refugee Council and others do to provide a range of services for the diverse community.
We agreed though that there is a lack of community spaces and activities for young people, so I was glad to be able to talk with them about the recent initiative by the local police to set up a youth club, about Rubicon Dance’s plans to develop the old Roath Library in to a valuable community asset and the new library and hub in the CRI.
I’m looking forward to reading their project when it’s finished.
